Jim Corbett National Park

Settled down in the foothills of Himalayas is a beauty of a national park, a place that is refer to as the ‘Jim Corbett National Park’. Ideally located in Nainital district of Uttrakhand, the Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park of Asia. The place is full of rich cultural heritage that substantiates the story behind its name at different points in time. Being called as ‘Hailey National Park’ during its early days, came from Sir Malcolm Hailey, the Governor of United Provinces. Later, during the years 1954-55, its changed to ‘Ramganga National Park’ owing to the prominence of Ramganga River in its vicinity.

Soon after, the park was named ‘Jim Corbett National Park’ in context to Edward James Jim Corbett, the man behind the establishment of the park in 1957. The place was given the honor of a national park in 1936 and witnessed conservation of the land in 1868. It is also being honored as the place where Project Tiger was first launched in 1973. This unique tiger territory is best known as the father who gave birth of the Project Tiger in India to protect the most endangered species and the Royal of India called Tigers.

Jim Corbett is a home to densest population of tiger in the world that promises the sight of the big striped cat in its premises. The park boasts of an area of 521 sq. km and together with adjacent Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary and Reserve Forest areas, constitutes the Corbett Tiger Reserve. The park is filled with a plethora of options in Jim Corbett resorts and packages that will leave you spellbound. Jim Corbett National Park is marked by a beautiful habitats ranging from wet and dry, plain and mountainous, plain and rugged, forests and grasslands resulting in the growth of countless species of flora and fauna. How to Reach Corbett:

Ramnagar is perhaps the best approach to the Corbett National Park which forms the headquarters of CTR. This small city is well connected by road and rail network with major cities of India like Delhi, Moradabad, Nainital and Bareilly. Once you reach Ramnagar, then it takes only half an hour to reach Corbett National Park. The park is around 15 Kms from Ramnagar railway station.

By Road: Ramnagar has a very good network of road that connects the different cities. The Corbett National Park is situated at an approximate surface distance of 260 Kilometer from India's national capital Delhi. The state government of Uttarakhand plies buses at a short interval of time from Delhi, Moradabad, Haldawani, and Nainital that reaches Corbett directly.

By Rail: The railway station in Ramnagar receives trains from different major cities of India like Delhi, Moradabad and Bareilly. A direct train to Ramnagar runs from Delhi. You can check out for Ranikhet Express, Corbett Link Express and Kathgodam Express that takes you directly to Ramnagar.

E-permits are non-refundable if permit is booked/confirmed
Please carry the same ID card submitted during online booking
Please intimate us 45 days in advance (for Indian nationals)
Foreign nationals can ask for booking 90 days in advance
Passport details are mandatory for making reservation of foreigner tourists
Safari permit is issued on first come first serve basis (subject to availability)
In case your safari is not booked due to reasons like technical error or non-availability of seat, we will refund the whole amount in your given bank account. The same would be communicated accordingly.

Visitors are required to obtain entry permits that are being issued online (by producing above mentioned documents)
It should be noted that the entry permit to the Corbett National Park is provisional and can be changed or cancelled without any prior intimation
The order of Corbett Tiger Reserve Director will be final in this regard, we are governed by the rules made there under

Official registered guides can only join your excursions, please do not try to change the guide or naturalist
Entry to the National Park is strictly prohibited after sunset.Day visit to Dhikala Tourism Zone is not permitted except for the tourists staying inside the forest lodges.While doing jeep safari do not get down from the vehicle, it is not allowed Avoid carrying pets while you on a holiday tour as no pets can be taken inside the CTR.All visitors to the Corbett Tiger Reserve are abide by the rules and regulations of wildlife protection act. Terms & Conditions for Online Jeep Safari Booking

Jeep and Canter safari at Corbett is conducted only two shifts – Morning and Evening daily.
Morning safari is conducted from 06:30 AM to 09:30 AM and afternoon safari time is from 02:30 PM to 05:30 PM.
Visitors are required to send their passport size photograph needed for permit registration.
The number of visitors going on safari vehicle should not exceed the limit as they will be stopped at the entry gate.
The tourists are held responsible for their own luggage during the safari, no safari driver or guide is liable for the same.
